Pride in Place
Guide for Church Leaders
284 locations have been selected to qualify for the government's Pride in Place Programme. This plan aims to see transformative change in some of the most disadvantaged communities in the country and offers churches and other faith groups an important opportunity to be at the heart of long-term community engagement.
We have developed a short guide for Church Leaders to help you learn more about the Pride in Place Programme and how and why you might get involved in your area!
If you are looking for a simple poster exploring the Pride in Place programme and opportunities for partnership with faith communities, our 'Quick guide' is the place to start!

But the fight isn’t over. Over 14.4 million people live in poverty in the UK, with many struggling to eat and heat their homes. ChurchWorks is committed to equipping and releasing the church to tackle poverty and love our communities.
How is ChurchWorks tackling poverty?
We are committed to a relational approach to tackling poverty which harnesses the joint power of the church. Our Tackling Poverty work looks like:
Catalysing Collaboration
through our Warm Welcome Campaign and our ChurchWorks Community
Communicating
the amazing work the church is already doing to inspire and equip others to get involved, both inside and outside the church through online and in-person events and campaigns
Research
with partners including UK universities to help the church and the government understand more about the impact the church is having already, and how it could fight poverty even more effectively in the future
Advocacy
to articulate the role of the church in tackling poverty in the UK and working with the government to remove barriers to collaboration
